UIL Installer is free — for everyone, forever. No feature walls. No subscription tiers. Just a gift to the open-source community, funded by people who believe in beautiful software.
If it saves you an hour, consider buying us a coffee.
Every donation funds development time, build servers, and the dream of a beautiful Linux installer.
There's a moment in every good installer where you forget you're installing an operating system. You're just clicking through something that feels finished. That was the bar. We hit it.
UIL Installer is a web app running inside a kiosk on a live ISO. It speaks JSON to a V backend. It streams terminal output through tmux over SSE. It detects your hardware, recommends a desktop, warns you before you overwrite Windows, and lets you export your entire configuration as a file you can deploy anywhere. It works offline. It ships with bcachefs. Nobody asked for all of this. We did it anyway.
The same technology stack that installs an OS can deploy a VPS from an SSH session. It can sit below a running kernel as an invisible security monitor. It can migrate a running server to new hardware without a reboot. That's not scope creep. That's a platform that kept revealing itself.
We give the installer to takhiOS for free. It's our gift to the Arch community. If it saves you time, consider supporting development through donations. The dream is simple: build something undeniable, and the people who need it will find their way to you.
Unified Independent Landscape. Built to be given away. Built to be protected. 🐴
